Saul Blitz (1905 – 1979) was an American innovator, manufacturer, and businessman known for advancing plastics processing technologies. He developed and patented several injection molding and blow molding processes. Blitz was also a business leader. He founded the plastics manufacturing company Tico Plastics Inc. in New York City.
They produced a variety of plastic products, including blow-molded Christmas decorations. He had a number of plastics manufacturing patents for methods to produce hollow plastic parts, which were assigned to his company.
In the mid-1950s, Blitz engineered a leveraged buyout of NOMA Corporation’s NOMA Lites division, a New York manufacturer of plastic lighting products and holiday lights. The company continued its manufacturing operations at the New York City plant until 1971 when it closed its doors due to overseas competition.
Saul Blitz was a well-known speaker at national plastics and manufacturing conferences and one of the original members of the editorial advisory board of Plastics Technology magazine.
