Edward C. Hunerberg (1945 – ) is a leading expert and product developer in the structural foam / low-pressure injection molding industry. Originally working for Koehring Company’s Springfield Cast Products Division in 1971, he designed controls for their concept structural foam low-pressure injection machine. He was essential in creating the Uniloy Springfield brand and has continued to hold several engineering management and Product Line Vice President positions within Uniloy Milacron.
Mr. Hunerberg’s dedication to Structural Foam and Low-Pressure injection molding technologies can be seen in his work on sequential injection processes, programmable independent multi-nozzle controls, low-pressure structural web gas assist molding, and two-color molding processes.
He was awarded the Johnson Controls Chairman’s Award for Customer Satisfaction and the Neil Armstrong Award from Milacron, Inc., and has been inducted into the Pioneers Club. Mr. Hunerberg has also remained active in scholarly research. He was awarded the Best Paper and Presentation Award by Plastics News in 1998 for his work on Low-Pressure Structural Web Gas Assist Molding Technology.
He holds several patents for Structural Foam and Gas Assist Technologies. Mr. Hunerberg is dedicated to both technology and customer satisfaction. Before retirement, his last position at Uniloy Milacron was Vice President of the Structural Foam and Low-Pressure Injection Molding Product Line.
