John P. Beaumont (1952 – ) earned his Bachelor of Science in Plastics Technology from the University of Massachusetts and immediately began working for Rowland as a project engineer. Years later, he returned to earn a Master of Science in Plastics Engineering and then founded and became president and CEO of Beaumont Technologies. He is also the former Program Chair of the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie, Behrend College. Mr. Beaumont has authored several books published by Hanser Gardner Publications, including “Runner & Gating Design Handbook” and “Successful Injection Molding,” and contributed to the design chapters of the “Injection Molding Handbook.”
His earlier industrial credits include positions as Technical Manager for Moldflow US operations and Engineering Manager for Ciba Vision Corp. Shortly after joining Penn State in 1989, he founded and directed the Plastics CAE Center for nearly 20 years. In 1998, John founded Mr. Beaumont Technologies Inc., a pioneer and world leader of in-mold rheological control technologies. John is an SPE Fellow, a member of the Plastics Pioneers Association, and a past Chair of the Injection Molding Division’s Board of Directors.
